About Strange Brew Cafe

Strange Brew blends fresh brewed coffee, lattes, frappes, bubble tea, pastries and full service dining with the downtown grind.

Located at 137 Washington St, Binghamton, NY 13901, Strange Brew Cafe operates as a cafe serving Binghamton in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Google also lists it under breakfast restaurant, brunch restaurant, lunch restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.

This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. Typical hours are 7 AM–6 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. To whoever made my Hashtag breakfast sandwich on Sunday, August 23rd, 2026 at approximately 4:15 p.m., you are heaven sent. An angel amongst mankind. The best sandwich creator in all of history. This was the most divine Hashtag sandwich I have ever tasted (and I have had many). I dream about it. I live in despair that nothing else will come close to this sandwich. May your bloodline be blessed and all of your hopes and dreams come true.

I was hunting for strong coffee. I was hoping this was not weak coffee. Oh my friend, it is not! I ordered a cortado with oatmilk, a latte with oatmilk, a sausage, egg, and cheese. This was the rescue I needed from my caffeine withdrawal. The atmosphere was quiet, quaint, and comforting. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is knowledgeable, and very courteous. Thank you for creating this establishment.

What a great place! Shout out to how nice even the customers are! I was given a suggestion by a regular customer and she was so right, the BLT breakfast sandwich was amazing! I was suggested by the staff to get the sandwich on the house bread and it was perfect! I loved that the coconut really stood out in my hot latte. We also got the Jasmine Green Iced Tea, the Brooklyn breakfast sandwich, and the Breakfast Potatoes, all of which were absolutely delicious. Can't wait to go back for lunch next time!

Visited for breakfast on a weekday morning. Cute little locally owned cafe. Staff were extremely welcoming and pleasant. Good breakfast consisting of omelets and coffee. Would highly recommend. 4 minute walk from the holiday inn. Place your order with the cashier or order at the kiosk. Menu is on the wall to the right of the cashier. Seating consists of small tables of two to 4 seats. Probably not great for large groups.

I don’t quite get how it got its name. The only thing that may be considered strange would be one wall of decals. I think a more fitting name would be something to do with how good their drinks are. I ordered a vanilla bean frappe and I think it was the best one I have ever had! They also have a huge variety of flavor options for their drinks. It was quite impressive. Their food menu had a lot of options. A Mac’n cheese grilled cheese isn’t something I’ve seen on a menu anywhere else. The prices of the food were too steep for me unfortunately so I can’t say how any of that tastes. The display case of cookies and muffins etc. sure looked inviting though. The sitting area is pretty and most seats were filled it’s definitely a popular place.
